Health Care Refusal

Senate Bill Number:
90

Senate Bill 90 maintains that medical professionals and health care providers who refuse to provide services that "violate their conscience" cannot be discriminated against. This bill also exempts health care providers from liability for refusing to provide medical services based on their personal conscience.

SB 90 is promoted by its sponsors as targeting the LGBTQ+ community. Some interpret the language to also allow health care providers to refuse any services related to ending a pregnancy.
