"Religious Freedom" for Schools

SB 17 would do a number of things including allow students to express religious or political views in assignments free from discrimination; give equal access to religious and political organizations to forums and such on the same basis as access is given to other groups; allow students to display religious messages and access school facilities during non-instructional time as a religious student organization; use school media to announce student religious meetings; allow schools to sponsor artistic or theatrical pieces that advance student knowledge on cultural or religious heritage; allow a teacher to teach about religion using a Bible without providing religious instruction.
