Scott County KFTC and NAACP Burn up the Phone Lines

Scott County KFTC folks had their 3rd Voter Mobilization Phonebank this morning over at the Lock and Key on Main St, Georgetown.  It was the 2nd phonebank we've done in cooperation with our great friends at Scott County NAACP.

We had 9 callers and had a lot of quality conversations.

"I talked to one woman who told me she's 60 years old and always votes.  This year, she says that she's trying to get a group of her friends to vote for the first time and said she'd like to come out and volunteer with us at the next phone bank."  - John Douglas - President, Scott County NAACP

"I spoke with a woman who thanked me a lot for what we're doing and said that no one had ever called her before to ask her to vote.  She was so excited."  - Rev Joseph Jackson, KFTC

At this point, we've called through all 700 phone numbers we had for the Boston community and Scroggins Park, plus all of our Scott County members.  Next, we'll start calling all of the people who we've helped to register to vote or who have signed a voting rights petition in the last 2 years.

While we were there, we also replenish the stack of Voter Guides at the Lock and Key - which had already run out from the previous week.
