Question 1:

Why do you think you are the right person to represent your district on the Louisville Metro Council?

My husband and I chose Shively as our home many years ago.  I see a lot of potential in our District.  It is centrally located, affordable and has economic potential strengthened by many well-established businesses.

I am a connector and make every effort to use my knowledge and education to raise the level of awareness about the law and government at every opportunity.  I received my BA in English from the University of Louisville and my law degree from Chase College of Law in Northern Kentucky.  My entire legal career has been as a public servant.  I have served as a public defender working for the poor who need a criminal attorney, a prosecutor for domestic violence and child support as well as a family law attorney for the Legal Aid Society.  I also had the opportunity to manage mortgage loan escrow operations for a mid-sized bank.  The knowledge that I have gained is shared; I explain the law and the system to the community at every opportunity and will continue to use my unique skills to keep District 3 safe, our houses valuable, our environment clean and our tax dollars working all of us.  I am the right person to represent District 3.

Question 1:

Why do you think you are the right person to represent your district on the Louisville Metro Council?

I believe I am the right person to represent District 3 (D3) because, I understand our future lies in leveraging the ‘POWER of WE’, through me.  As a home grown “product” and hopeful elected Civil Servant of D3, I will fight to ensure ‘WE’- through me, as a district, have access to optimal social, environmental, educational and financial resources needed to propel D3 to the next level.  ‘WE’ – though me, will provide transparent forums for accountability and accessibility and ensure equity to every resident, regardless of age, sexual preference, gender, religion or social economic status.  I am running for our children, youth, elderly, disabled, overlooked and underserved. I am running, so that no one’s voice is ever muted or goes unheard, I am running because D3 is ready to be the change ‘WE’ want to see, I am running  because I realize that change begins with ME.
