Community Forum on proposed Tennessee Gas pipeline

The Danville City Commission and the Boyle County Fiscal Court are hosting an informational forum so that community members can try to get their questions answered about the proposed Tennessee Gas pipeline (sometimes referred to as the Kinder Morgan pipeline) that would run through 18 Kentucky counties, including about 20 miles in Boyle County, 12 miles in Garrard County, and 24 miles in Madison County.

Several people from a number of agencies and groups have been invited to speak, including reps from Kinder Morgan. Danville City Manager Ron Scott has confirmed that Joe Mataich of the United States Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Jason Hurt of the Kentucky Public Service Commission’s Gas Pipeline Safety Branch will attend. Tom FitzGerald of the Kentucky Resources Council will also attend.

We are encouraging people to arrive early and to wear your KFTC t-shirt if you have one to show that there is strong opposition in our community against this project.

Arrive early if you can to make sure you get a seat.
