Kentuckians For The Commonwealth is a grassroots social justice organization with more than 11,000 members across the state. We organize for a thriving and sustainable economy, a clean environment, racial and economic justice, and a healthy democracy.
We are looking for progressive-minded folks who are interested in politics and want the opportunity to make a difference this election year.
Our Voter Empowerment Organizers will be responsible for canvassing neighborhoods and connecting with voters through direct conversations. You will walk door-to-door to register voters, educate voters about issues and candidates, recruit and coordinate volunteers, help get certain progressive candidates elected, and get out the vote. The position involves door-to-door canvassing and phone-banking talking to voters. It also requires a small amount of data-entry.

This is a part time, temporary position that will start around June 1st, 2018 and run until November 7, 2018.
Positions average 15 hours a week. KFTC pays $13.74 per hour.
Range of Responsibilities:
- Canvassing neighborhoods, using walk lists and having conversations with voters.
- Phone banking to have conversation with voters
- Recruiting and coordinating volunteers.
- Data-entry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of KFTC
- Desire and ability to do public outreach, including door-to-door canvassing, phone, and tabling
- Desire and ability to develop the leadership of other people
- A commitment to diversity and the ability to work well in diverse groups, especially with low-income communities and communities of color
- Good communication skills, including active-listening
- Ability to be self-motivated and independent, and also work effectively in teams
