Kentucky and Ohio Water Justice Field Hearing | Kentuckians For The Commonwealth

Kentucky and Ohio Water Justice Field Hearing

Join us for a Water Justice Poor People’s Field Hearing. Across the United States, toxic water and unaffordable water bills are infringing on the basic human rights of poor people and communities of color. One area that incorporates these issues is the environment around us, including our water quality. Over 5 million people receive their drinking water from the Ohio River. Come learn about the potential threats of the restructuring of the ORSANCO commision, threats to Indigenous water rights, fracking, injections wells, pipelines many other threats to our water supply which ultimately impacts all of our communities.

The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival has been holding Poor People's Hearings in states across the nation to lift up the voices of the poor and directly impacted. We demand that our nation's elected officials take action to fight systemic racism, poverty, the war economy and militarism, ecological devastation, and our nation's distorted moral narrative of Christian nationalism. Newly elected officials will listen to those who have been traditionally left out of the electoral process in this country; they will learn about the power of a new and unsettling force that is organizing across this country, and they will hear our demands.
