Brooklyn Loves Mountains benefit concert | Kentuckians For The Commonwealth

Brooklyn Loves Mountains benefit concert

Brooklyn Loves Mountains presents a benefit concert to send a message of solidarity to those working to preserve and protect the environment against mountaintop removal coal mining, and create a brighter future for Appalachian communities. The concert will be held at Jalopy Theatre in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 8pm. The event will follow Kentucky’s Tenth Annual “I Love Mountains Day” rally, which takes place in February. Proceeds benefit Kentuckians For The Commonwealth’s Canary Project, a campaign launched in 2003 to build a better future beyond coal with a focus to end mountaintop removal mining.

The concert will feature performances by some of the New York City areaʼs best country, bluegrass and hip hop bands, including Gangstagrass, Demolition String Band, The Down Hill Strugglers, and Cropdust. Alex Battles and Jan Bell will serve as hosts. Advanced tickets to the show are $25 and can be purchased in person at Jalopy Theatre or at jalopy.biz. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $30.
