KIPL Clean Energy Lobby Day

Over the past two years Kentucky Interfaith Power & Light has been collecting postcards through its Healthy Future for Our Kids Campaign to help create a healthy energy future. To date they have collected more than one thousand postcards supporting the Clean Energy Opportunity Act (CEOA) to be hand delivered to lawmakers. This legislation is championed by the Kentucky Sustainable Energy Alliance (or KySEA), a coalition of Kentucky-based organizations that support a transition to clean energy in our state. The CEOA sets goals for Kentucky's energy portfolio in both renewable energy sources and reductions through increased efficiencies.

On March 1 Kentucky IPL will be hosting a lobbying day to promote the Clean Energy Opportunity Act during the 2016 General Assembly. They will be providing information on the CEOA as well as talking points to those who come to lobby. Kentucky IPL will be scheduling meetings with lawmakers and will then break into teams to cover these meetings.

Then meet in Room 346 of the Capitol Annex anytime between 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. for training and lobby assignments.
